Lottery Day

Today was my day. I was going to check my lottery ticket from last night and see that I had won. When I got online to check the numbers, I realized something awful. The numbers didn’t match. What?! This was going to be my ticket out of the blue collar life I see myself in these days. I was going to pay off my school loans, buy myself a Dutch Bros coffee stand and donate the rest to Oxfam America. Why didn’t this happen?

My mom laughed at me after I checked my ticket. She laughed harder when I said, “That was a waste of two bucks.”

Huh. I’m starting to wonder if I need to come up with a plan B in case the lottery people screw up the numbers again. We’ll see.

Note: This is the ticket that failed me. Read it and weep.
