Marble Statues are things of Paris and Rome: they’re the pieces of art I see on my travels but not things I see when I’m headed out to get coffee and write on my computer. Until today. I parked my car and was walking to my old haunt, Cornerstone Coffee on Third Street in Mac. But when I got to the corner where this stood, I stopped. What? I laughed to myself. When I paired it with the columns of Oregon Mutual, I laughed again. McMinnville, Oregon sure has changed since 1989. It should, I suppose, but it still gets me a little bit.
Change happens whether you want it to or not. Things change. People change. Places change. Communication changes. And hopefully one day the artist will change this statue to give the girl some arms and a forehead. (Wink!)
Tata for now.
