The Business of Dumplings

Dumplings. It seems to me you either love em or you hate em. I never loved them though when I lived in Lypovets, Ukraine and my Baba Masha made them for me to try, I loved them. I loved them with cherries and domashni cheese (sort of like a sweet cottage cheese). I wasn’t much of a fan of the potato dumplings though I ate them.

The pelmeni or the meat dumplings were good. I mean, I watched them be made at my Baba’s house with pink slime, but I still ate them and loved them.

When it comes to ordering dumplings here in the U.S., I don’t. If, like the NPR article says, anything that drops in water qualifies then occasionally I eat ravioli, the ultimate Italian dumpling.

It’s strange that dumplings can be the eye-catching news of the day, but they were, folks!

Tata for now.
